A Brief and Illustrious History of Floormall.com (Articles seen on FCW)

Who, in their right mind at least, would enjoy paying, for instance, two dollars for a cork tile, when they can pay one dollar?  This is what Marc Henderson, founder of Floormall.com thought of, when he first conceived of this great online company.  Floormall.com has been in existence for over seven years.  They strive to achieve the lowest possible prices for their customers by working closely with manufacturers both large and small, in order to obtain those generous discounts.

Floormall.com has had some extremely interesting requests from customers.  One of the most memorable was a request put in by the South Eastern Railway Museum in Duluth Georgia.  They wanted to restore the Warren G. Harding train, and needed fine tile along the lines of that which had been used in a few Pullman rail cars from the 1920s.  Floormall.com is proud to be able to help the museum restore a prized piece of our American history. This will make the Pullman car available for future generations to see, and admire.

As of June 15th, 2010, Floormall.com has joined forces with simpleFLOORS and they can now offer the latter company’s flooring to residential and commercial markets and others.  Floormall.com is also able to showcase Kathy Ireland’s area rugs, which come from manufacturer Shaw Industries.  Another website, Unfinishedflooring.com, was launched on May 13, 2009 and it focuses on unfinished wood species.  They also provide tips and advice on how to best work with the different kinds of woods. This site is geared towards DIY enthusiasts in particular.

With 483 store locations, Ann Taylor Loft chose 12″ x 12″ onyx black floor tiles from Mohawk Colorations, for their floors.  The world’s largest museum complex, the Smithsonian Institution, purchased unfinished White Oak 4″ x 0.75″.  ZPizza, which is a rapidly growing chain of gourmet health-conscious pizza stores, chose Marazzi I Sigilli , Roghe Cotto 12″x12″.  Floormall.com prides itself on saving homeowners time and money with their flooring projects, and they are also proud of the fact of being able to serve major retailers and institutions as well.

Another such retailer is Banana Republic, and they purchased three-inch prefinished Brazilian Teak.  Jessica McClintock used her skills learned at an early age from her grandmother to become a fashion icon to an entire generation. McClintock purchased engineered wood called Ash Polar and it was stained white, for a lovely romantic look.  Planet Fitness, an extraordinary gym, chose hard-wearing flooring in Pergo Elegant Expressions, an 8″ plank with underlayment, in a Berkshire Oak finish.  Stone Lodge, which creates single-family homes built as mountain homestead lodges, is located in Southern Vermont. They brought prefinished Red Oak Antique Honey into their homes to create just the right, exquisite touch.

On February 25, 2009, Floormall and BuildDirect formed an alliance. They will be offering some of the companies hard surface products such as Yanchi Bamboo, Lamton and Toklo laminates.  BuildDirect usually sells large pallets and container loads to the public, but Floormall will now sell smaller quantities, so that anyone may put this wonderful product in their homes.   At Floormall.com’s site you can explore and discover and ask questions about hundreds of flooring products.  This site, and company has it all there for you to view at your leisure, whether at midnight, or noon.

Want to go to a university, shop at the mall, and save 5% on all purchases during January?   You can do all of this and more at Floormall.com.  We’re talking flooring here — all kinds and types and materials — both knowledge of and the learning about and sometimes purchasing of flooring. Whether it’s real hardwood floors, laminate, engineered hardwood, bamboo, tiles of a myriad variety, and other (sometimes on the more unusual end of the spectrum) flooring.

Spring will soon be upon us and often, besides the usual thoughts on Spring, homeowners may be considering a Spring cleaning of their own for one or several floors of their home.  If your knowledge about flooring is, shall we be kind, poor at best, then there’s a solution for that at the floormall.com university.  In the comfort of your own home you can browse through many useful categories.  How do you install a bamboo floor?  Is your budget low and you need to get a few bargains in the flooring area?  Their 5% discount will surely help with that.  What the heck is colored grout, and where do you use it?  Can I lay down some nice floors myself?  What if I need a professional floor installer to do it?  How do I know they will do a good job?  All of these answers and more will be found at Floormall.com and the university they have online.

When I get the hardwood floors installed or do them myself, what if the dog tracks in that sticky Spring mud?  Do I get the mop and soap out and lather detergent all over the hardwood?  No!  Do you want your real woods floors to end up looking like a roller coaster?   Once you get hold of your flooring, you need to find out how to take care of it.  There are so many methods for the various types, that taking a few notes and giving the floormall.com website and their university of knowledge a good looking over, is well worth it.  How do you lay those gorgeous, but teeny colored glass mosaic tiles on your backsplash?  Don’t they take forever to put on behind your counters?  These types of tiles come on a net-backed sheet and they are actually quite easy to  get up there.  You can even pop a few off the backing and replace them with other colors, to give your backsplash a custom look.

For your floors, tiles have to be studied as to their usage and wear, and size and color and direction of placement.  What about natural stone tiles, or ceramic, or unglazed, or carpet tiles?  Some of us may have been unaware of the latter.  These are exceptionally useful kinds of floor coverings for a family room.  Spill some finger paint or coffee on one?  Whip it up and replace it in ten seconds.  No problemo.  Your money is hard earned these days.  Check out some fantastic tips and bargains and varieties of flooring at floormall.com.  They won’t charge you to look and browse to your heart’s content..
